Dessie tries hard to be
a model; she just forgot
to show off her collar.
She is so cute though,
we had to share.

 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Is it safe enough and strong enough for my dog?
As with any product for your canine friend, use this product with supervision. Collars and leashes have been tested with real, live dogs (Our own pups wear them when frolicking outside!). At the same time, we ask that you use caution. Make sure the collar is properly sized.

  • What products do you use for leashes and collars?
The inner layer of both the leash and collar is Polypropylene webbing with a breaking strength of 660 pounds. The outer layer is covered with the groovy fabrics you see. The buckles, swivel hooks, eyelets, and rivets are the same as those used in commercial dog and horse products.

  • What do I do if my dog gets mud all over the leash and collar?
All collars and leashes are hand washable (we recommend warm water and gentle detergent). Place on a flat surface to dry, and iron out any wrinkles (using medium dry heat; no steaming).

  • How do I know what size collar is right for my pooch?
The surest and safest way to ensure you get the right size is to measure your dog's neck. You should not be able to fit anymore than two fingers between the collar and the pup's neck. When all else fails, measure the size of the current collar your dog uses.

  • Are these collars and leashes only for special occasions?
While we certainly have had a few folks tell us they are planning to use the leash and collar set for only special occasions, our pups wear them day in and day out (although they do change them out depending on what mood they are in...some days Shakespeare really wants a manly green stripe while other days he feels the blue cell brings out the color in his eyes).

  • How wide are the collars?
Collars can be made in 3/4" or 1" widths. We recommend using smaller print fabrics for the 3/4" collars though. Some folks have expressed the thought that this might be too wide for their petite pup. Certainly a 4-lb Yorkie might be overpowered by this width, but 7-lb Dessie really looks fetching in her inch wide collar. We are also more than happy to try to accommodate requests for smaller widths. We would just need to make sure we could find all the appropriately sized hardware.

  • What is next for Pawsitively Fetching?
We just cannot seem to stop ourselves from falling in love with new fabrics, so it seems as though we have a few new designs every week. Aside from that, we plan to expand our seasonal/holiday line; we already have some cool picks for Halloween 2007!

  • Do you make harness?
Sadly, the answer is not yet. We are working on some designs and hope to have some by the holiday season.

  • Do you make holiday collars and leashes?
Absolutely! Check back in early Sept. for our Halloween designs!
